The old Thakre Hotel has been closed and it's relocated just a few miles away. They offer Batata/onion/palak bhajji (50 Rs. per plate), Misal, Vada Misal, Samosa pav, Vada pav, dosa, uttapam and cold drinks.
It's a simple restaurant having nothing fancy but lots of customers visiting!
Please note that NOTHING is available in Jain here. The food quality is okayish. I found it too oily. The quantity is huge though!

The best food joint you will find in Karjat for quick snacks. The place dates long back and is known for its taste and quantity it serves. It's very crowded in monsoon as it is the prime season for people to visit Karjat, which is known for its waterfall ls, villas and lush green mountains.
It is exactly on prime intersection of Karjat and so pretty tough to find parking. The owner has also opened a new hotel which has better parking and seating facility. The service is pretty quick as they are constantly taking out new bhajis out of the kadai.
The price hasn't spike over the years and still the taste and quantity is the same. That's why the place is still amongst my top favorites and visit there every time I visit Karjat.

We stopped for evening snacks and coffee after coming down from Matheran. It's an amazing shack serving delicious hot snacks.
We enjoyed hot Kanda bhajji coming straight out of the hot pan with yummy garlic chutney and green chillies. Also enjoyed freshly made Vada pav with coffee. The place is not fancy but very decent, neat and clean. Full marks to quality of food. It's a must visit place when you are driving to Matheran.
