Very interesting place. Very good botanical garden. Well maintained garden. teak woods and plantation are available. Good view during light rain
It's worth a trip for the beauty of the museum. A must for educational institutions . One can learn and understand a lot about the tree, the wood obtained from it and various byproducts made out of teakwood, especially in Kerala. Many traditional furniture, which are rarely in use nowadays, can be seen here. Unfortunately, a few items are either modified to look good or not real wood at all. Beautiful well maintained garden, try to spend some time here for the fresh air.
This place is a wonder by itself. A museum for teak ! Very intriguing. I even found plant for my sun sign at this place. Its a perfect place for students of botany and plant research. They could have arranged an outlet for selling baby teak plants which one could buy and plant it at their home or arrange to plant it inside the huge area where the museum is located with. But its a government enterprise so marketing related activities are nil. Its maintained neat and clean and has lots of parking space.
Place is beautiful, the museum is very poor and useless for English speaking people. Went on a weekend, it was very crowded. It would be great if they could have more clean toilets and rest areas. Tickets for 50 per adult.
Good concept about Nilambur Teak and Teak wood. But Teak museum and its theme needs updation. Photograhs and demonstrations are very old and faded. Signages may be provided for easy navigation inside the museum. More information /illustrations may be displayed as a lot of space available in the 2 floor building. Garden and its maintenance needes appreciation. Sometimes garden resembles OOTY. Children's park is just ok for a 30 minutes fun. Wide variety of plants/trees are conserved in the campus. Toilet complex, ample parking space , teashop /icecream booth is available inside the museum campus
