Great place that serves authentic Tibetan cuisine. It's a small humble place, nothing fancy but quite authentic. Food is best had at the restaurant where it's served steaming hot. They do have vegetarian options. Only thing is- dress in light clothing since it feels hot there due to low ventilation and while eating steaming hot food haha
What an absolutely lovely place to dine at They have two options for non-veg: chicken & beef. We ordered: *Chicken laphing (very spicy) *Steam beef momos (not spicy) *Fried beef momos (took very long to be prepared, we had almost finished eating by then) *Beef thenthuk dry: loved the flavour but the meat could've been pre-soaked in the gravy to add more flavour to it. * Beef Yemen noodles - spicy af, brilliant taste, but it'll make you cry so bad
It's a very old place in Bangalore in the heart of church street. They server authentic Tibetan food. It's simple, small, there's nothing fancy. The price and menu is very minimal. This restaurant is tough to find as there's no proper hoarding, try to take help of Google maps.
Taste of Tibet is a legendary place in Bangalore. Every college kid from generation used to visit there for good food and pricing meeting our budget. Place is exactly the same but pricing n menu items have increased.
Located in the by lanes of Brigade Road in Bengaluru, this Tibetan restaurant is famous among the city folks for its authentic food they serve. The restaurant has been around for more than a decade, the setup is small, the hygiene of the place will surely be questioned by many, and the ambiance is pretty plain as well. What works for them is the taste of the food they serve, which is marvelous. We had the following while we were at Taste of Tibet. Chicken steamed Momos had the perfect juicy filling, with the right amount of spices as well. The outer layer was perfectly steamed and the chutney ended up adding more zest to this dish. It was indeed the perfect start to the evening. Shaptra with Tingmo was the next choice. The buns were large and steamed to perfection, while thick gravy was served piping hot. Would have preferred it to be a semi gravy dish rather than a complete gravy. The taste was a mix of sour and spice, with fresh veggies having been used, it was as good as it could be. Chicken Thukpa was way too bland. Yes, considering it to be a soupy affair, there have been various versions of Thukpa that we have tried that were far more tasty and delicious than the one we had at Taste of Tibet. The noodles, veggies, and the meat were great, but it had absolutely no taste. Nothing could make it better and that for us was a little disappointing. Taste of Tibet is located in one of the shopping complexes on the second floor, the parking will be very difficult to find as well. You can find them at 5, Rest House Road, Indo Dubai Plaza, 2nd Floor, Brigade Road, Bangalore. Budget Corner Chicken Momos - 100 INR Shaptra with Tingmo - 130 INR Chicken Thukpa - 120 INR Average cost for two people would be 350 - 400 INR.
I have been visiting Taste of Tibet since 2008 after reading an article in The Times of India. True to the article, this place has consistently been living up to expectations all through the last few decades. Simple and classic Tibetan food and hospitality is what you can expect here. Mostly self service, their team is more than happy to assist where needed. Owners and employees are kind and welcoming. If you love Tibetan food, this place is a definite bookmark on your map! It is located on the leftmost corner on the 2nd floor of Indo Dubai plaza. Nearest metro station is MG Road within walking distance.
After long time I visited here some food test was different over all it was good
Receltly I had an opportunity to visit TOT near Brigade road. The set up is very simple and the interiors give you a glimpse of Tibet. Food was very tasty. I have now developed a taste for fried momos with their exotic sauce. Fried rice was very authentic. Nice place if you want to introduce yourself to Tibetan delicacies
