I have suggested an update for the place because this is not Tapovan Temple. The location and name is misleading. This is actually an ashram called Vedic Sadhna Ashram in Tapovan, Dehradun. There is not a Shiva Temple here as one might assume.
Well I would suggest you to go with your personal car or bike because there isn't any public transport to visit. The place will give you the vibes of forest
