Tandoori tea - Coffee shop in Tumakuru - Tumakuru, India

There are only few Tandoori Tea stalls in Tumakuru and here is one of those. Located in Belagumba road near Panda Square. Let me tell you what exactly is Tandoori tea is. A small clay bowls are roasted in Tandoor ( now called as oven (precisely clay oven)). Then half boiled ( brewed) Tea is poured into these pots, this gets froths over and brewed completely. Tea contains tea masala, leaves, Mint leaves, cinnamon etc. This has Major benifit for health in terms of controlling Blood insulin level, improving digestion, good for heart and many more. If you've never tried Tandoori Tea, please give a try. If you like Masala and mint flavour then Tandoori tea is perfect for those. Essence are very strong here. They do serve Mirchi ( Bonda) and Mandakki here. Capsicum Mirchi and Aloo Mirchi was very delicious. The added Chilli powder and lemon which is served along with Pudina Chutney and Onion, carrot etc blend is perfect match for tandoori tea. Mandakki was also good, not like Davangere style but it was very good. So overall it was nice experience for tea lovers. Nice place to have chat with your friends and family after coming back from DD hills or whenever you crave for tea. Prices are Little high, 20 rupees for Tandoori tea.

WARNING For those who are skeptical about tasting a light flavour of mud initially of taking the 1st sip of tea,it is not suggested.

Tandoori tea at its best. Usually crowded but they prepare almost 30 cups of tea at once. Hot snacks like vada, chilly bajji are also available with cool drinks. Good place for a quick stop. Use and throw matka cups and preparation of tandoori tea is awesome.

We were on a Sunday morning ride to Devarayana durga and stopped at this place for a tea break. I should say that the tea tasted awesome at that point of time.

Menasinakai bajji + tandoori tea = heaven. Best combo. Tandoori tea costs Rs20. Felt like bajji/plate Rs30 was on the higher side.
