On the way to Pondicherry, stop here and enjoy boating. The boatman will ask you for 500 rs in the middle of the water for a 10-minute extra ride. Although the notice is there on the ticket window not to pay anything on the boat this is how boatmen earn extra money.

A good place to spend time with your friends and family.. One thing is they have increased price of all the rides from what is showing on their website. We were a team of 12 ppl it cost around 6k for 2 boats.. Where it will take us to a beach island we can spend some time. No water or Food available in Island advise you to kindly order the food at the Canteen or Carry your own food to the island and do not forget to carry water bottles with you.

It was a good experience for our kids. They enjoyed the boat ride and had so much fun of the beach Island (not really an island though ) Take spare clothes for kids in case they are taking bath in the beach and a plastic cover for the wet clothes. Better to take some snacks for the kids. And lot of water if you are going during the afternoon time. Sunscreen is must for the kids and adults. It was 3500 for the boat ride, we dutched with another family of 4. Small water Bottles were available for 10 rs but it gets over quickly. It was a enjoyable evening for us and the kids

A very good one day destination from Chennai. Go with your friends and family for a boating experience and ECR drive. But pls NOTE- The depth of the water is very low at some place. Me and my friend booked the cycle boat (blue colour with big wheels like propellor) so after paddling for a few metres we were stuck in mud and wasn't able to come out of it. There is no proper marking where the depth is too low. We got tired of paddling and trying to take our boat outside the mud. The rescue arrived very late.

On the way to pondy, stopped here to rest and had Tea and Coffee. There were a few families coming for boat rides. Many of the boats were damaged and not maintained properly.

Nice place for Kayaking. If you are in a team you can book a trip to a small island near the sea. Carry a new set of clothes, as you are going to get wet for sure.

A good getaway, 90 kms from Chennai, on East Coast Road. One can reach the TTDC Raindrop Boathouse on ECR by road; a 2 hour drive from the city, through slow moving traffic. From the boathouse, 8-seater boats will take one to the beach and will take about 20 minutes. Speedboats will take lesser time. The boat ride is pleasant and a good experience away from the bustling city crowds. One can buy refreshments or meals at the TTDC canteen while you wait for the boat to take you to a landing area.
