Its homely, very close to Guru Bhagwan Temple and Alangudi Bhajanotsavam mandapam. Marriamma, caretaker serves tea & tasty food. Its good to stay.
In a remote village like Alangudi, Tamilarazhi Lodge is a good place to stay. Me & my friend with family stayed there for four days and we had a comfortable stay. Though no restaurant facility is available, coffee is served in the morning and evening at a request. For bathing also, hot water is made available. It is recommended that geyser is fitted in all rooms so that guests need not depend on the maid to bring hot water to the room. Also it is very much necessary to treat the rooms with pest control as rodents and creepers are freely roaming in the rooms.
I used to stay for 3 to 4 days for attending the Alangudi Radha Kalyanam held during second week of February every year. The lodge is situated in the main road from kumbakonam to Mannargudi in the heart of village and easily approchable. It is well maintained, clean, and neat. A comfortble stay for those who wish to attend Alangudi Radha Kalyanam as the Mandapam is only around two furlongs from this place and very comvenient. Auto facility is easily available as it is situated in the main road. You can have a comfortable stay at a reasonable rate which is well maintained.
No ventilation. One ton AC for an 200 sqft room and pity is that ac remote settings are locked and will not work. Even though Genset was available it's manager will refuse to switch on and will wait for 30 mins in midnight. Hence prepare to stay in dark without any possibility of sleep during midnight. At same time suffer with mosquito bites. An sleepless night for my entire family. Worst one in my life. Not worth for 1750 for family room. Will not advise stay here.

One of the navagraha temple. Built by chola kings.This temple is guru parikaarathalam. Sivan called as aabathsagayeshwarar and amman name is yelavarkuzhali amman. This temple was sung thirugnanasambandhar. Guru peyarchi times huge crowd in this temp
Stopped for Breakfast, Good food, relatively quick service, competitive pricing, Nice ambience. Packed snacks were also good. Neat wash room. It was refreshing to spend some time near the lake side tables in between long drive
I found this when I searched for alternatives for the second day of my trip after the first booking at one property in Kumbakonam that was terrible. This is located just outside of the Alangudi Guru sthalam temple. Very convenient if you are visiting
