Talagad Fort... From Mumbai goa Highway 23 km and from Murud janjira it's 32 km. Talagad has two entrances where from Market area you can walk towards Fort... However if you have bike then it goes to staircases directly where you can park your bike. Once you walk 6 minutes you will see first Tof / Canon ... and view of tala City... You can walk on wider Road not on the tiny roads coz it's blocked at the Buruj.
You will see panorama from top of the fort... Water tanks are there... The forts wall is still strong and have canon placed. Almost 2 hour's we spent on Tala Fort.
Please carry your Food and water as you won't find anything once you start climbing.... There are seasonal monkeys so careful while climbing...
As I always said do not litter the place kcraa naa pheNke , agr bhrii huii paannii kii boNttl leke jaa skte ho to khaalii boNttl leke aaie aur kuudd'edaan meN pheNke / Dhanyawad. Respect the place and the history of the place. Do not write your names on any monument or stone's.

A small hill converted to fort about 400 years ago, Talgad can be easily scaled in about 30 minutes until the very top, with low endurance required. Tala town is the base village, and the route is also very well marked with no chance of getting lost. Near the entrance, are a couple of bastions and a fort wall that runs halfway down the fort's elevation. There are many water cisterns, a couple of deity mandirs, fortification all around the fort and some ruins of residence/building structure.
Easy half hour trek to top of the fort. Well suited for beginners. Places to see includes some bastion, caves, some remains of structures and a huge plateau on top. Very nice in monsoon.
The Fort is very easy to Climb. Needs repair for restoration. Local people are trying their best to do it. This fort has so many cannons. Must visit.
An off-beat trek. Not so tiring, and provides great views from the top. A bunch of water cisterns can be seen on the top. Excellent road conditions from Roha at the time of writing this.
Please keep our heritage sites clean and do not spoil the sanctity. Please do not visit in large groups.
