It's far from Madeikeri but worth the trip. The scenic roads and the altitude at which the temple is situated is amazing. There's a sense of peace and calm here.

It was a surreal experience to witness the magical origin of the Great Cauvery River in this beautiful temple. The entire place was covered in mist when we visited in Mid September. Even though the 40 km journey is bit strenuous, it's a scenic addition to your Coorg itinerary.

This place is the origin of cauvery river. Bit far from the city but really worth visiting. Temperature is always less here. View is good from the temple. There are Shiva and ganpati temple inside. People are not allowed to touch water but if you are performing any rituals or Puja then the priest may allow. Also you need to wear full dress. Shorts not allowed. Shoe stand restrooms are also available. Must visit if you're in coorg.

1. AVOID THIS PLACE IF YOU ARE COMING JUST TO VISIT OR TO SEE THE HILL VIEW POINT AS IT IS CLOSED. 2. It takes around 2hr+ to reach here on the way to coorg. The road is very narrow and uphill. Also it's very bad. 3. They charge 20/- as forest permits, 40/- as panchayat charges. Parking is free however, however if its crowded you wont get parking and have to walk very long. 4. There is a chappal stand 3/- per chappal and toilet @5/-. Prasad is there @20/-. 5. Photography is prohibited from the temple. However you can click pictures chupke chupke. There is nothing great to see here, as we are from Goa It's common for us goans. The route which leads here is very long and boring. That's the only reason.

This place place is situated at very high altitude. The drive to climb is smooth, there is only a couple of hair pin bends. And you literally don't have to walk more than 15-30 steps. The scene from this place is magical. Sometimes the fog comes in
