We went here on a Friday when the Taj Mahal is closed at sunset and it was beautiful! On a clear day you can see the Taj perfectly, there are seats for you to relax and watch the sunset. We paid for tickets so we could get the best view, a lot of people were in the fields behind the viewpoint which is free.

I came on a foggy day then didn't see a real sunset but still a nice view of the taj. I was happy I read another review here which says that the high fee at the first counter is for another place and only inside is the counter of the view point, which was only 50 rupees
IMO the best view of the Taj without the hassles or the crowd! A definite must visit and a photographer's paradise. Has a nicely maintained garden as well.

Definitely go to this one (costing 50rupee) vs the first one you come across (costing 250) - better views & a little closer to Taj itself.
Agra Fort is another wonderful and historical place to visit after Taj Mahal. Don't forget to click pictures and take videos. Carry a camera and use phones for photos and videos. Also, please take something for the squirrels as it will be photogenic
