It is truly an iconic place to stay and experience Mumbai. The majestic hotel lives to its expectations - hospitality, excellent service, beautiful rooms, lovely dining options in 9 restaurants, and the location right across from Gateway of India. You experience their hospitality and service from the time to enter the hotel. You are greeted with welcome garlands and traditional guest welcome that's usually common in homes. The hotel check-in process is comfortable, and you are served a welcome drink (non alcoholic) while you wait for the host to complete the process. You can enjoy a drink at the pool if you choose to. The rooms are large in size with comfortable beds and a balcony that opens to the Gteway of India's views. What a place to experience Sunrise or sunset. The bathrooms are large with a jacuzzi. The hotel has several restaurants, and each of them offers a great selection of dishes that are worth trying during your stay.
This is not just a hotel but an experience all together! The sea view is breathtakingly beautiful !! The staff courteous, kind and very helpful. My husband had requested some decor for our anniversary and the staff was kind enough to help.
How dare I remove even 1 star from This fabulous hotel? This abode of princes , potentates and politicians. Hear me out. Nothing against the hotel itself. Top class maintenance, super luxurious rooms (we were in the heritage wing) and fabulous location. Hold it. Location? What was once the gateway to India is now a tacky tourist magnet with a loud sound and light show that runs twice daily . Just entering the hotel whether by taxi or feet is quite an effort. Try walking outside even in the morning. It's smelly . Hotel was born in and for a different century IMO. Pic shows me with the Gateway of India from my room balcony. We visited the Harbour Bar. Decent and Masala Craft- needs improvement in food quality!
I had a great experience at Taj, was celebrating my wife's birthday They did some decoration with Cake which I felt was truly exceptional...also the heritage walk was an amazing experience
The rooms were average; there was nothing particularly special about them. The service was a bit slow, as Zomato proved to be faster than their in-room dining. However, the staff were wonderful and the level of hospitality was commendable.
Great ambience. You get a grand welcome by the staff, makes you feel special. Totally worth your money. Great food, especially italian cuisine. A must visit place once.
Had lunch at Shamiana as a member The icecreams which we ordered despite being high priced,did not taste like Taj Icecream at all. The lobby is flooded by all kinds of people,does not look like it is Taj.Shamiana is only good for nonveg, but for veg go Masala Craft only.
Even though I didn't go inside, I was really impressed by how amazing the Taj Hotel in Mumbai looked from the outside. It stood so tall and fancy next to the Gateway of India. The hotel's design was so fancy and cool, it felt like a mix of old stories and modern luxury. Even though I didn't get to go in, just looking at it made me think about all the interesting things that might happen inside those walls. Seeing the Taj Hotel reminded me of how our city can be both traditional and super stylish at the same time.
