Though a peaceful place, I didn't find any amenities here. Just a place to hangout.

It looks inviting ...but opening hours are not inviting at all. And now that a gigantic apartment complex has sprung up so close this park seems ugly and miserable. It urgently needs a complete cleaning and rehabilitation of the sculptures ,benches, lights and addition of various fast growing plants and trees to regain some intimacy ,and vegetal comfort ; and the vibrancy of yesteryear. Once known for the beautiful sunsets and sunrises, the Tagore Park is now dull and less visited due to the negligence of the authorities! Have some memories in this park during my childhood. The sunsets and sunrises of this park are now lost in the pages of history,all thanks to the skyscraper which blocks the magnification view from this park which even blocks the lighthouse which once guided the mariners to the coast.
Very Beautiful Location in main city. Idgah Masjid, St. Aloysius Church and City Centre Mall nearby. Very less crowded. Parking was Available. No tickets for entry. You can sit there and enjoy some greenery.
The park is one of the oldest park in mangalore.
Have lots of childhood memories here.

At a distance of 1 Km from Mangalore Railway Station, Tagore Park also known as Light House Hill Garden was built in the 18th century by Haider Ali & Tipu Sultan.
The Light House Hill garden has a garden besides the light house, from where the tourists can enjoy a marvelous view of the sea with moving boats and ships adding on to its serene beauty. One can see the beautiful sea view, sunset view and also the sailing ships and boats on the sea.
This beautiful garden is newly renovated.There is also a small artificial stream that flows down a rock strewn channel. There is a public library at the base of the light house with a reading room named after Karnad Sadashiv Rao, a renowned freedom fighter. This garden is very close to St. Aloysius Chapel and can be visited together.
Timings: 9 AM - 12 PM & 4 - 9 PM.

Nice beach! Ample parking space(paid). Great to watch the sunset. Not many food options, a great place to walk on the beach, with ample kids playing area, and good seating. A few places are a bit dirty but overall it's good.
