Swamy's mess , West fort, Trivandrum Go for it if you want quality homely food which is so tasty and healthy at the same time in a very vintage ambience. I am having a short vacation in Trivandrum and already went there twice. Thats the kind of the feeling the food here gave me. We had curd rice and hands down it was the best authentic curdrice I ever had in Trivandrum. Curd rice was served with mulaku kondattam, veppilakatti and pickle, along with a dash of puliinchi. You can ask for pappadam, side dish as per your choice. I was told that they mix fresh butter (venna) with the curd rice. The meals is equally great, with the choice of white rice( ponni rice) or chemba rice ( red rice) .There will be two side dishes, parippu, sambar, rasam, teeyal, moru, along with pappadam , pickle and veppilakatti and its definitely served on banana leaf!. You can also ask for a little bowl of freshly churned curd which is rated at Rs 10. And the side dishes and list of curries keeps changing every day. Trust me, our whole body was cooled down after having the food in that hot afternoon. The people there are so warm...especially the main person there, sorry I forgot his name....So do head to Swamy's mess if you want some great healthy vegetarian food that will make your tummy smile.

All true Brahmins food, homely feel... The worst is the attitude towards service. To start I, am suffering from severe kidney failure. Me and my son went to have meal after kids school time. Me and kid was really hungry and tired. We got inside hotel and they put banana leaf which is so ugly and had sipder web's and fungus.. I showed them and request to change. They told me to wash the leaf and use. My kid washed and me too and my kid pour the waste water down on the floor. An old man rushed in and started shouting at my kid. So i interfered, why shouting. If it has not to be on floor you guys had to put a notice board regarding the same. Suddenly that old man said the banana leaf is their offering (attitude is free to us). I said u are taking charge which are extra and not normal and how can it be an offering. He got completely agitated and shouted to go out by saying " You peoples don't have food from us... Go away". We came out very sadly and ashamed, many of the other customers also interfered in between and said this act of taking out people is completely unacceptable.

The food at Swami's Mess at Trivandrum was awesome! Piping hot, tasty, generous helpings, service with smiles from the owner to the employees.. this is a must go address for meals in Trivandrum/Thiruvananthapuram. We really loved the place and we went twice to eat here over 2 days

A pure vegetarian food (No garlic) Lunch contain unlimited Rice white/Samba, kootu, poriyal, sambar, puliseru/vathal kuzhambu, rasam, moru, applam, vathal milagai, karuveppilai podi, lemon oorukai and a table spoon of salt. If you dine, there, it is Rs.80/-. Parcel food costs Rs.90/-. At a time, only 12 persons are allowed and hence you to wait after getting a token for your turn. Really delicious veg food at trivandrum. Sundays and other festival days Swami's mess not open. Two wheeler or auto is best option to reach.

Homely vegetarian meals for a reasonable price. Now there has been a change in the management and a change in the taste. Hoping that the old taste and quality continues

It was memorable. The homely ambience attracted me the most. Homemade not in words but is a reality. The fresh curd cooled the body.

Superb meals. Poor parking facility. The meals just superb. Also the serving system was superb.
