Swami Ramanand teerth a great freedom fighter who fought against Asaf jahi kingdom (Nizamshahi) of Hyderabad for injustice of Marathi people in Marathwada region of Maharashtra State....As the operation Polo led by the former defence minister Iron man of India SARDAR VALLABHBHAI PATEL on 14 sept 1948 and after 4 days means on 17 sept 1948...state of Hyderabad become part of India and Marathwada region become part of former Bombay state later known as Maharashtra on 1 May 1960......For his honour Nanded University renamed as Swami Ramanand teerth Marathwada University (SRTMU) on auspicious day of 17 sept 1994 which is also called Marathwada Muktisangram Din( Marathwada freedom day)
