History :-
Since 1370 this fort was in control of farqui sultans. Later it passed in the hands of mughals, Marathas and finally in 1818 the british took control of fort. This fort played significant role in guarding the trade route of burhanpur to surat.

The fort of Songir is north of Dhule. S. from Dhule. There is facility of T. Songir village is on Dhule- Nardana road. To the west of the village is the fort. There is a footpath on the eastern side of the fort. She goes to the fort through a flight of stairs. As there are ruins of houses on the fort There is a deep water well. There is no way to draw water. There is no water or accommodation anywhere else on the fort and the surrounding area is flat so you can see the far horizon.

Very tasty food without any masala ...people from city area will love this one ..as we never had these pure non gravy non masala food...very healthy one...
This place is good for food with vary low prices. If you are planning to visit in the morning, Missal & ragada kachori are dishes you can try out. For lunch or dinner, sev bhaji & kaju kari are good to eat.
