A Sadhu called Devangada Doddanna (from Devanga caste residing in now cubbonpete) who showed his extreme devotion to Surya Narayana lived here about 600yrs ago. Surya Narayana appeared to him and blessed with a power to make soil into rice. Since people started to pour in very large numbers & started bothering him, he gave all the money he had to his disciples (instructed to build a pattabhi Rama temple) & entered into sageeva samadhi. That's the story behind this temple.

It's very peaceful and calm and we can forget our sorrows and sadness after visiting this temple by blessings of Sri Surya Narayana Swamy

Quite and nice place.

This is the place where a devotee from Cubbonpet has prayed to Lord Surya and got his blessings. It is said that God Surya has manifested and blessed the devotee. Every year on the day of Rathasaptami they Carry out special pooja and Ratha yatre to please the lord.

Did not know there was Sri Surya Narayana Swamy Temple exists. Must visit in the heart of city.
