This is very beautiful and very photogenic. The experience of heading down and back up was fun and safe. Kids loved the experience more than us. The monument/idols are withering away and the maintenance from ASI seems very limited. The same story with the temple too, bird dropping and dust is too obvious of the effort and it put up bad picture for the visitors. It promotes more littering & vandalism from visitors as I see it and as bapu said, we shouldn't accept lower standards in cleanliness - ive put a complain, please do the same. Pro tip: The stairwell is 5 storey, avoid taking elders down and ve very careful with kids as water is green & opaque - any rescue would be tough.

The Modhera Sun Temple was made by King Bhima I of the Chalukya dynasty in the early 11th century. It is a temple made to honour the Sun God in Modhera village of Mehsana district on the bank of River Pushpavati.

It's a great place dedicated to the sun. The temple is devided in to 3 parts, sun tenk, mandala and sanctum. The temple is scientifically built on tropic of cancer with interlocking system of stone. It is built by king Bhimdev in 1026 to pay tribute to the sun as the sun was family god of solanki dynasty. Very beautiful.
