Located at girivalam road near Anna arch, tea, coffee, black tea, lemon tea, black coffee ,etc available here , usually crowded at busy hours, good place for a cup of tea and refreshments...

1) it's unfortunate that most of the tea shop owners don't follow any rules and regulations regarding implementing 'no-smoking ' zones or prohibition of smoking in public places,in Tiruvannamalai town. 2) this place is too small, still doing roaring business ,mainly due to sale of cigarettes and allowing the customers to openly smoke. 3)unfortunately local police or government officials never ever consider this as violation of public rights and they never bother to implement the prohibition of smoking in and at public places. 4) infact , in many places including this place, smokers are welcome to sit inside area where tea is being brewed.they provide even a fan facility too. now you can imagine the fate of non-smokers, who are a minority. 5) unfortunately the shop keepers as well as the local police or government don't implement the ill effects of passive smoking. The tea shop keepers don't even display no- smoking boards or don't display boards showing ill effects like lung, mouth cancers. 6) the place is small and the taste is also not so great and and I don't advise if you are a teatottler and a good tea lover. 7)Most of the tea-stall owners behave rude as well as offensive and keep un-welcoming attitude towards non- smokers as they consider non-smokers as weak and minority. 8) this is high time that local administration should strictly implement the prohibition on smoking at public places mainly at tea shops. In the late evenings even consumption of alcohol is observed in open areas at most of these locations after the shops are closed. 9) Tiruvannamalai is one of the most famous tourist attraction places in the world regularly visited for spiritual internal journey .unfortunately either the local administration or the local businessmen only encash the visitors/ pilgrims .they don't even show a minimum concern or respect towards pilgrims or visitors. Thank you.

Surya tea shop, known by more than 18years. Very good and hygiene place. Whenever I go for work near kubera lingam and giri pradhakshna(hill round) I relax here with hot samosa. Very soft and hot here. Three brothers running this shop. They are always together. It's gives good feel. Try yourself once.

Nice Tea..I know this shop from 2008 and the Tea taste remains same.
