Visited during our stay at shantiniketan, a historical place with the memories of yesteryears. However it is well maintained even today.
Just next to the Surul rajbari, this temple is a good example of the rich architectural heritage of Bengal along with exquisite terracotta work. There are no entry restrictions to this place, but visitors are requested to maintain the sanctity of this worship ground
A great place to visit of you are planning to get an experience of a Raajbari. Its open for all. And anyome can visit the front place of this palace. Though not much crowded but you guide/toto driver can lead you this place. We visited during Saraswati puja. May be all the festivals are celebrated here with enthusiasm. The heirs of this palace are resides here and those place are not allowed for visit. You can have the glance of the natto-mondir and thakur-dalaan. The place is greatly maintained. Beside this a temple is also there, where the renovatiom work is going on. Happy visit!
Beautifully restored and maintained palace. But no signage is bit of a downer. Nothing to explain what is what. The entry is very narrow for cars and maybe improved. The terracotta temple complex adjacent to the palace is a must visit.
Surul rajbari and terracota temple is very beautiful. It is situated in bolpur. It is Sarkar rajbari built in 1750s. Road conditions are good. You can travel by four wheelers. It is a very good place for a short trip with family and friends. Must visit during the time of Durga puja.
A historical place, one can enjoy more during the Durga Puja. The terracotta temple bears terracotta panels , still in very good condition, telling stories from Ramayana and Mahabharata.
There is no entry fee to this place. The terracotta temples are beautiful. There is not much to cover here, but worth a visit for sure. Try to visit before dark.
