It is just a other entry gate to the fort which connects the local village. Try to visit in the evening it's boiling in the afternoon
The Suraj Pol is a gate into the former fortified complex. The name of the fort is Sun Gate, that is, it's the eastern gate into the complex. From this gate, you get great views of the surrounding area and you can also see the path that led up to the fort. The gate is largely reconstructed and there's not much to see. It is a good vantage point to get some really good photos.
One of the entries of the fort and the view is simply breathtaking. The big entrance door is one of the attractions, good to visit this point during the sunset.
Beautiful place. The door at the entrance is mind boggling with the spikes still attatched to it to prevent the elephants back in the day. We view is great and the history of the place makes it better. Not to be missed on the fort tour.
Entrance gate from the East end of the Fort. During the the 3rd siege of Chittorgarh in 1567 a Mughal battery was set up on the east side of the Fort to enter through this gate by Emperor Akbar. Thus Akbar had launched a two frontal attack on the Rajputs, one from the main Western entrance gates and the other from this gate. Suraj pole is one of the seven entrance of fort. It is situated at the back side of fort and facing to battle ground where fight was happened between alouddin khilji and raval ratan sinh. This pole was damaged at that time and it is renovated by British government. You can see color variation.
