Matheran is very popular hill station near Mumbai.. easily approachable by road via Neral and then Joy train from Aman lodge.. watching sun set there is enjoyable moment wherein you can have a view of surrounding peaks.....walking to reach there is the only option.. which may take 25mins from market area so plan in advance to reach before sunset.....

Perfect weekend gateway. The place is awesome and ever penny you spend is worthy. I have been visiting this place when i was 15 now I'm 27. Quick disclaimers :- Beware of they monkeys. If they tries to scare you retaliate or else they will be snatching all your stuffs and party in front of you. Additional, i would like to enlighten that, you visit at monsoon season because only then you will be able to have the sight of seeing the real beauty of mountains and you will be walking within the clouds. Rest of the season you will enjoy but there aren't enough crowd and you will be seeing the dead mountains and dead trees.
