Sunset point on Hemakuta hill. Entrance from the Sasivekalu Ganesha side. From entrance around 500-700mts walk uphill (short hike). Gets busy after 5:30 to see the sunset. Very good view, ample sitting space for many folks and camera. No charges or tickets. Well maintained with local authorities for any support.
The experience of witnessing the sunset from Hemakuta Hills is not only a visual feast but also a spiritual journey. It is an opportunity to reflect, to connect with the grandeur of nature, and to appreciate the rich historical and cultural heritage. I highly recommend visiting Hemakuta Hills during sunset to anyone visiting Hampi. The combination of natural beauty, ancient architecture, and the sense of serenity that pervades the hills makes it a truly unforgettable experience. Whether you are a nature enthusiast, a history buff, or simply seeking a moment of tranquility, Hemakuta Hills at sunset offers a soul-stirring journey that will leave an indelible mark on your heart.
Hemakuta Hill is one among the best places in Hampi to see the sunrise and sunset; and not as tedious to reach the top say compared to the Matanga Hill nearby, which is boasted as the best location to watch sunset in Hampi. So if you find it difficult to make it to Matanga Hill for sunset view, try from Hemakuta Hill.
One of the best places in Hampi to watch sunset. There are two ways to get here. One is from next to Virupaksha Temple. The other way is from Sasivekalu Ganesha. There are many small temples on this hill. There are benches made from stone to sit. One can spend the evening here watching beautiful sunset.
Worth climbing hill for best views around hampi bazar as it's Right next to popular Virupaksha temple , hampi .
This should be the best sunset viewpoint in Hampi. You can see Virupaksha temple clearly from the hilltop. The climb up is easy and you can see lots of small temples and ruins on the way, which holds archaeological importance. You can plan for visiting this at the end of day 1 after completing all the important spots nearby. The view is fantastic and must not be missed!!
A go-to destination for many visitors to Hampi, for the local guides are pretty adamant that the best sunset views are from this hilltop. Be as it may, the climb up is hardly strenuous and there are many ruins along the way, some old temples, some simply monuments but nevertheless confirm that Hampi was a well-inhabited place in the days of yore, and the construction of that period was durable enough to endure and stupefy tourists quite a few centuries later. The sunset on the day I visited was marred by cloudy weather, and the occasional drizzle, but it was a memorable experience none the less...
Hemakuta is very close to the Virupaksha Temple and it's a must visit place for not just sunset but overall 360 open air museum connotation of Hampi. It offers stunning vistas to capture. The rocks on the hill make it a paradise. The benches setup for sunset views are unforgettable. One can get breathtaking views of the famous Virupaksha with hues of Orange at dusk. A Trek from parking is also very short and doable for all. Kadalekalu Ganesha on the left while up for the climb to Hemakuta is the star attraction of this place and can't be missed. Referring to Bengal Gram in local language due to the belly shape it is one of the largest monolith Ganesha statues in Karnataka.

Great temple. I bought special darshna tickets for it otherwise you may not even see inside if the place is crowded. We did feed fishes as well in the pond there.
Amazing taste Out of other places for breakfast I would surely choose this place again. They provided us very good & fast service. The Idlis were very fluffy and medu wada was also delicious. If you are nearby Verupaksha temple do visit.

This great historical site offers so much information about South India and their various importance. Yes it's a tedious walk around for about 4-5 km which is in form of a circuit, but that's the part where you feel like walking in the history, and e

My visit to the Kadalekalu Ganesha in the ancient town of Hampi was a journey into the heart of art and spirituality. This colossal monolithic statue of Lord Ganesha is not only a testament to the architectural prowess of the Vijayanagara Empire but
