Sundaram Palace - Hotel in Siliguri - Darjeeling, India

The housekeeping staff at the hotel are excellent, the rooms are at par, however the so called manager sitting at the reception is a dork, he really needs to be straightened or probably needs a demotion from that post.... He needs to be a little customer centric and should know how to handle his customers.... I've stayed there twice and both the times I had I seriously did not like the manager's attitude and for the third I had come to check in but then I decided not to because of the manager....

Its badly maintain hotel with poor response from reception desk person when we come at 8pm...they gave us deluxe room where ac, fridge, geyser and telephone was not working....also the bedshit and towel were not much clean..u have to go downstairs every time when u need something.... U can easily locate rat and lizard in dining area...

Everything is good ..Specially out guard sahab so serve duty at night.

Jotting in Points for an easier explanation De-Merits 1. As I travel frequently, I do have a habit of confirming my bookings 24 hrs prior. Even after doing so, I was checking at evening and the room was not ready. Had to wait more than 1 hr for the room to be ready. 2. The washroom was also not clear along with the room - which I mentioned while the guy responsible for cleaning was doing his job. I had to wait for another 30 minutes and had to once again reach out and bring the manager in who was challenging "washroom saaf hain sir" 3. Calling reception at 6.50 Am for Tea bags- No response 4. The linens also don't look good. Merits 1. Location 2. Room space was brilliant 3. Many food restaurants around to avoid any more hustling in the hotel

Very worst service in Sundaram Palace. 1. Rooms are not neat and clean 2. Staff not familiar and very rude. 3. No water bottle available in room, everything is chargeable. 4. Tea also not good. 5. There are many hidden charges and that charges are very high. Not recommended to anyone.

So Bad Experience in Hotel. Taken 1700 but no complementary is there water bottle is also chargeble. Food Service is very bad. As compared to others room price is very High.

Terrible service. On my recent trip to North Bengal, I spent 2 nights, each during upward and downward transit. First night, I reached middle of night and the Manager, Mr Nihar had to be begged to open the door. But it was good otherwise. During my return, I was given a really cramped room, adequate for max 2 persons. My family and I, we 3 had to spend the night on that strictly small sized cot, squeezed in. I was told that the bigger room in the first case was an upgrade, which I was told the last night. Hilarious excuse. Moreover, I ordered food at 8, wanted to be served at 9 and I got it at 10.45, right before we were preparing to sleep empty stomach with a kid of 10 years. Avoid this unprofessionally managed hotel.

Good Hotel and services are also awesome. Nearby to all major visiting places. They are customer friendly and help in all manners.
