Sun N Shade Resort - Resort hotel in Matheran - Raigad, India

You will find food over here, along with hair and stones. This is definitely not a resort; the food quality was pathetic. The pool is like Nala. You can see trash in it. Jet spray is not working in any of the rooms. Rude hotel staff. We had a reservation of ten people, and after checking in, we were all shocked. And I left the hotel in an hour. The property owner has not returned the money that was paid in advance. They will put their finger in their nose before putting food in the container. Please never visit this horrible place.

Room were very bad. No amenities provide. Bathroom has filthy smell. Water drops from ceiling. Floors are always wet. Only vegetarian food allowed that too of low taste quality. Only swimming area looks good. Maintenance is low. We had planned for 2 nights but we left in night only. They told us about night program also before booking but nothing happened as such.

Had a really good experience over here. Compared to many other tourist destination hotels this one was really budget friendly which even had pool along with 3 times pakka veg food which was out of our plans since we looked for a cheaper hotel. Highly recommended for couples and family's.

Not at all a good decent place if traveling with kids. Basic hygiene is missing. Rooms are dirty with cockroaches, dirty and worn out linen, blankets. Food was ok but the place itself had too many insects crawling (spiders, flying cockroaches). Had paid for 2 days but just stayed 1 day. Didnt get the full refund, owner paid 50% refund.

*Review* SUN & SHADE, MATHERAN They kept some touts in the Neral Rly Stn and nearby place (Example Sarfaros). We were two. For 22 hours they took Rs.5500/-. Total loss. We walked around Matheran and realized that Sun n Shade is the worst in Matheran. They will show you good picture of rooms having corridor. They will say, all are packed. Go to extension. The AC will not work. The mechanic will come and fail. No hanger in room. The swimming pool size is nano. They want to make max money with low investment. Food is horribly bad and insufficient. Every item finishes early and never comes again. Say, at the evening a magician comes. That is not free. Because after the show the magician will beg. Morning tea, evening snax are hoax. They will distaste your tongue and day. Staff are all casual. Only Anuj is bit trained. There are many options and alternates in Matheran. Do not fall their prey. Even at the time of maximum rush, pls go for spot booking and choose your room.

Not suggesting this resort, this is actually not a resort, you can call it dharamshala. Cockroach everywhere, no hygiene, no cleaning, room has no tv , no intercom, even no complementary water too ! Rooms are selling and so bed and pillows too . Food was too bad , pool is dirty, even plates are not clean to eat. Not suggesting if you need clean and hygiene. They should change name to sun and shade dharamashala.

Visited recently and the property is poorly maintained. Rooms smells fishy and linen are dirty. Bathroom was full of hair, They only offer veg food that to not value for money. we were asked 4k for valley view rooms and given other room. Think twice before you book here, there are plenty hotels in Matheran with good value for money.

It was horrible experience here with unhygienic rooms & low maintenance services. There's no co-operation of hotel staff. It's not worth the money. Ruin my vacation by choosing this resort. Definitely not recommending.
