Sun City Resort Mandarmani - Resort hotel in Mandarmani - Medinipur East, India

This resort has a huge campus, with various types of rooms like conch, shell etc. We stayed there in a big group for a family marriage ceremony during Nov, 2023. Our stay there was quite pleasant, and we enjoyed the beach the most. Marriage was solemnised in the Radha Krishna Temple beside the beach, which was awesome. Swimming pool was also well maintained. However, the rooms looked not that well maintained. Food also we didn't find that great. The campus looked quite good and so huge, though it appeared like partially abandoned, esp looking at the remains of non-operational amusement park, the broken ropeway, and the Arjuna Chariot, etc. One more thing, they don't have intercoms in the rooms. Though, once you contact the reception on mobile, they were quite responsive. As we were in a family group, we could enjoy every bit of time we spent there.

Rooms needed upgradation. But location , service, and resort is totally awesome. 100+ acere of property loads of free space , swimming pool, boating facility. Staff were very well behaved. The Radha Krishna temple is a blessing.

The ambiance was really good. They provide the best service in the business. The rooms were too good. One will have great sea views and access to the beach. Their pool service is also good. I will suggest people to carry their own swim suits. Cause, they will not allow you if you're not wearing swimming material. Either, you have to buy from them, which is a bit costly. If you are going with your own car, it's great. But if you don't have a car, then you will face issues if you want to go to the main market. Otherwise, it's a great place to stay with your family and near ones.

Pro's : It's a huge 200 acres property with numerous guest rooms scattered across. It has huge lawns, fields, many sculptures and statues and a big mad made water body. Just roaming around the campus will be good enough for a 2 days' stay. We stay in a sea facing room, where from the balcony even from the room the sea is widely visible,you can spend hours & hours without getting bored. The swimming pool is huge with long operation hrs of 9 am - 9 pm. The free Breakfast buffet is excellent with a lot of different items to be chosen from. Service is decent, though not very prompt, .Cons : Maintenance of such a huge property is supposed to be a challenge, and we did find that they are struggling a bit on that. Many fun activities are closed after 2021 cyclone. The extra bed we got was old and a bit uneven. Also the a-la carte food is really costly Overall we found a lot of positives in our weekend stay, and we didn't mind the few negatives that we experienced. We got a 1 days stay for the big room at Rs 3500, and I would say it was real value for money with the amenities, service and quality of breakfast buffet we got! Would like to go back again.

Very clean & well maintained resort in affordable price. The location is perfect with a mind blowing personal sea beach. The food were also good. Behaviour of all the staffs were very polite and cooperative. The ambience including paddle boat and swimming pool made the resort more attractive. But the price of all food items were little bit costly.

Don't opt for it. had a dead fly in the food we ordered, apparently it seems like it was cooked with the aloo post. There is many more places way better maintained and way better maintained better value for money. 2500 see view rooms are avg. Not properly maintained. Had a dead fly in the Alo post that we ordered, only good part is the property is very big and plenty of areas to roam around.

Everything is good except the kind of people the management lets check in. Most of these people are hooligans who apparently have never seen women in their lives and they can go oogling and passing vulgar comments to your women family members all day without any fear. They throw private parties right in front of the family rooms with a few local girls (dancers or probably sex workers) hired from god knows where. The worst part is, there is no action taken by the management even after reporting these incidents. Although the hotel, food and its service were good, I won't be visiting this place ever just because of the kind of crowd it attracts or no stern action being visible to prevent these kinds of acts!

It's an old property with zero maintenance efforts. For rooms with 3500-4500Rs rental per day you should expect at least decent stay and services. I've been a regular visitor from last 3 years but this year will be my last as I'm highly disappointed. Conch shell rooms- seems only ground floor rooms get maintained and the first floor gets ignored like the middle child in the family. Pest ridden bathrooms with blackened sinks and toilet. Rooms have dampened over the years. Unwashed sheets and oldest AC available. Though service is fast but adds no value to the ghastly rooms. I would strongly suggest to look for better options in such price range.
