Quaint little guest house with clean rooms and bathrooms with hot water. Well furnished and comfortable. The balcony upstairs has a great view too. Munna, the caretaker is very well mannered and ensures personal attention. Farouk, the owner who lives next door is highly educated and well traveled and will engage you with very interesting conversations. Their house is a mini museum by itself with unique antiquities. I highly recommend this place.
I will start with one two words- " don't stay". Whatever positive reviews,0 if you read just ignore. Have visited this place during november'17 for two days and we are couple. Mr. Hussein, the owner, was quite charming and responsive in phone and have insisted us to order dinner as we are planning to reach by car at night. Reached the place early around 4 pm and went visit the Shillong main attraction -footpath shopping at police bazaar and to taste tandoori chicken. Rooms were clean and maintained well. Property was maintained good too. Though we have took our own car, due to narrowness of front road we avoided our car(inside it has good parking place). Taxi took 100Rs from summit to police bazaar though owner told us that police bazaar is in walking distance and believe us by walk it took 40 min :P. That was a start. The ordered Dinner was horrible. Few pieces of mutton was floating amidst red chilly+oily water. disgusting!! Next was more horrible. breakfast was served with super hard bread and jam, amul 5Rs butter. Couldn't eat that. Again in night we reached at around 8:30pm. Know what, house was locked. We have to bell so many times. The caretaker boy he feared so much about the owner. Next day we have to leave at early and need to load our bags in car. They didn't open the door for the same. Felt like we were in paid jail. we left in early morning, the car front glass was foggy sprayed little bit water with the garden hose. The servant boy appeared and stopped to doing that. again disgusted. Made a whole bad choice choosing the summit guest house. Not recommended.
Awesome experience. Good location, clean room and bathrooms with hot water. The owner Mr. Faroukh is a great man with a great personality. He takes care of every visitor. Fully homely expeeience. I would suggest when ever you are in shillong please try to stay here. Mr. Farukh will arrange everything. Last but not the least he is very handsome. I love the place.
During the month of March ,2019 we went there for our honeymoon. I can tell you that Summit guest house is one the best in Shillong. The Owner Mr. Hussain is an old man with British punctuality. We got the best room at 2nd floor with a balcony and Shillong city view. Rooms were clean, and service is also good.mr Hussain can help you on booking cab roam Shillong and near tourist places. Overall an excellent experience.
