SUMMER by thehostelcrowd - Backpacker Hostel in Canacona - South Goa, India

The hostel was adequate but certainly overpriced for what they offer. Their private room was fairly well equipped with basic necessities. Hot water was readily available and it was cleaned regularly depending on the duration of your stay. The staff was helpful and courteous and made decent suggestions for places to visit and things to do. It's located right by Palolem and Patnam beaches which is a great location. Breakfast is underwhelming and nothing up really look forward to. Coffee was good. Their common area was a good space to just chill in with a couple of beers and a book! They have a laundry service which is useful if you're there for a longer stay. If you're not getting an air conditioned room, it might get hot but was not uncomfortable to a large extent. However, I recommend going for an air conditioned one nevertheless. This is a decent place to be if you're a solo traveler. If you're going with family, I'd recommend finding a better place to stay!

Clean and hygienic rooms, good beds and common area that too at a great price!! If you reach early you can keep your bags in the baggage room and head to the beach. The breakfast in the cafe was nice. The common kitchen could do better with more utensils though. The crowd was very nice and friendly too :)

Exceptional value for money. We booked a double private room which is fresh, clean and modern. Very well fitted bathroom. The breakfast consists of 1 tea/coffee toast, boiled egg + samosa. Bananas were green with no other fruit option. There is a cafe next door which is outstanding, beautiful ambience in the evening and fantastic fresh cooked food also cheep! This hostel is located on the edge of the main hub but everything is a walkable distance only 15 minutes walk. Yoga every morning. If you want to make friends then this is the place, it has a beautiful communal area with swinging seats and ample seating. I would definitely recommend it!

Great hostel! Good breakfast, good coffee. The location is good, the room was clean. Only negative point, we were in a room with only one bathroom for 2 rooms of 6 and 8 people... So when everybody come back for the beach, you need wait! Good activities also, we went sunset kayaking for a low price.

Amazing hostel! They have common area to hang out, spacious rooms and bathrooms. Their cafe has really good and healthy choices. Complimentary breakfast is great as well. Room cleanliness is maintained. They have a kitchen area and terrace as well. Walking distance from the beach and the market. Great hostel to stay!

We stayed three nights here in one of the private AC rooms. The hostel is in a good location and provides a range of activities throughout the week. Good if you are a solo traveller. Free breakfast was hit and miss but cannot complain, staff were friendly and helpful. The room was of good standard despite grubby marks on the walls which could easily be cleaned off to improve.

This place has good potential but pricey and not worth the value you're getting. The good: has decent wifi, nice cafe area and pleasant staff. Needs improvement: power shortages frequently, they should have a generator for backup. The place has a gym but no generator... which shows the strange priority the owner has. The rooms, common area upstairs and "kitchen" were very neglected in their appearance. There is a cleaning staff there everyday but really it doesn't show. It has a feel that's way lower than the price... It should be 40% less in price to meet what they are offering. Overall it is a nice place with the potential of being a cool hostel. For now, I wouldn't recommend staying here for this price and value.

An amazing find very close to Palolem beach . Amazingly affordable place. Clean rooms dorms and clean bathrooms . Fantastic friendly staff . And a cute little coffee shop . This place is basic but amazing. Should check it out. Starting price for dorms in off season Rs.300 a head. AC and non AC available. They serve amazing coffee and Breakfast is complimentary.
