Sumaiya Biriyani Center - Indian Muslim restaurant in Kumbakonam - Thanjavur, India

Situated almost in between Kumbakonam bus stand and Kasi Viswanathar temple. The hotel offers majorly the non vegetarian option. At the entrance of the hotel you can observe a chef/ cook preparing parota and on the other side a cook preparing a Chinese menu. After entering towards your left you find the billing counter and to your right is the biriyani counter. The seating arrangement is for maximum 4 people dining together. Tables are clean. The service staff may look untidy but the service and food quality is good. Multiple options in parota, chicken, mutton is available. Chapathi and parota will be served without gravy, they recommended that we buy chicken gravy. Though it was not that best, it did serve its purpose. We ordered chapathi, chicken gravy, chicken rice 1/2 and chicken fried rice. The quantity they provide is very huge, though the name mentions 1/2 plate, 2 people can comfortably eat that. 1 chicken fried rice can fill 2 people comfortably. Please order once you complete the ordered dish or else it will be a waste. Very budget friendly hotel. This review is completely based on my experience.

It's very near to Kumbakonam railway station, we bought grilled chicken the taste was too bad and half cooked and the quantity is not upto the mark, we bought half grilled chicken, and we feel it's like quarter apart from this the ambience was good and they have ample space for parking. Briyani is good, fried rice does not meet expectation, quantity is not worth with cost, should try for arabia food lovers, no digital payment facility, cash is preference mode, be honest variety of ice cream option. For a Simple lime juice they cost 60rs taste is fine but quality is not enough for the bill they quoted. Overall not worth to the money. 2

Famous restaurant for non veg. They've two restaurants but older one is proving good tasty food. Sumaiya seems pretty popular for their Parota, koththu parota and biriyani. If you're expecting a place which needs to have high level of hygenic, then this place is not for you. Parking also you need to search by your own.

Lot of non veg varieties are there. Reasonable price and the taste of food was really good. The ambience of the hotel is bit not hygienic. Otherwise good hotel. I'm a big fan of their all items, especially Chicken biryani...

Food and food suggestion from the waiter is very bad. Need to improve the customer satisfaction.

Economic but taste is little less compared with earlier days. Varieties good service good. Taste n ambience need to be improved
