Sultan Bathery - Historical place in Mangaluru - Dakshina Kannada, India

This is where we took our 5 minute ferry ride to thannirbhavi beach. There is a ticket counter from where we can buy tickets. There is a fort here from where you can watch people building boats and sunset. Very calm place. Has a play area for kids. Recommended this ride during the sunset. It's beautiful to see the golden sun reflecting on the water.

The sunset view is calm and beautiful there. The fort will close by 7 - 7.30pm. The last buses are also at that time itself.

This is a historical monument protected by the archeological survey of India. From here you have a wonderful view of the backwaters. There is a small park nearby for the children to play and also a boat ride that takes you to a nearby beach. Overall this is just a one time visit place as there is not much to see. It is kept and maintained well even after many years.

Just an average place, nothing too extra or mind-blowing. Probably a good place for photography. it's just a small tower- pedestal kind of structure facing a small river. The history of this place is of course intriguing but the place itself, not that much. Car parking is easily available. There's a temple nearby too and a few refreshment shops too.

It's a best place to travel in ferry for short distance. After crossing ferry you will get Taneer bhavi beach. Even surfing training will be gaven.. Most main thing is You get Tadi on the other side you can enjoy

Tipu Sultan constructed this watchtower to keep a lookout for the entry of warships into the Gurpur River. The battery, made from black stones had been given the look of a miniature fortress. Not having withstood the test of time and extreme weather, this tower stands in ruins today. This is a popular tourist spot as you get beautiful views when on the battery. This is also a boating point to get to Thannirbhavi Beach. Free parking is there, no entry fee, Enjoy sunset view from the top of Sultan Bathery, shops are there, not much crowded, google map location is correct, good place to click pics. The scenic beauty surrounding the Sultan Battery has made it a hot spot. This area becomes a busy tourist spot in the months between October to March. When a tourist climbs to the top of the tower a spectacular view of the Arabian Sea waits for him and he is mesmerized by the surrounding beauty for a few minutes. Must visit place.

This is quite a serene beach experience. Sultan Bathery is the place where you start off for the main beach which is Thannirbhavi beach. They have ferries that take you to the main beach. The ferry service is quite often. Not sure when it starts in the morning but ends at 7pm. Holidays might affect their timings so check at the counter for the last ferry time. To and Fro Ticket is INR 10 Each. This place has a couple of eateries as well. Be prepared to wait for Rickshaw if you don't have a personal vehicle. They are quite organized as well. Best time to visit in the evening is from 4.30 to 6pm. You'll see the sunset and the sky turns hues of orange and Violet.

Plan your sunset at this beach its just beautiful and peaceful. You can take a ferry ride which will take just 4-5 min (the last ferry will be at 7:30pm) or go by road to the beach if you wish to stay a little longer
