Sujata temple is located at Bihar in India. This place especially belongs to the Buddhist religious people. When the Buddha was observing his dhamma life, the lady Sujata donated Khira (made of rice, milk). After eating that food Buddha practiced meditation and gained enlightenment. In this place she donated to the Buddha.
Located beside the Phalgu River, Sujata Garh holds a significant value in the Buddhist circuit. According to Buddhist tradition, Lord Buddha on the path of gaining enlightenment was offered payasam by a milkmaid named Sujata, thus, helping break his fast for seven years. Sujata Temple is located at village Senani, not very far from Sujata Garh/ Sujata Stupa. We visited this temple by a e-rickshaw from Bodh Gaya.
A peaceful place. When I visited, nobody was there. Spent few moments. The shortcut road was (from Sujata Stupa) also beautiful.
Its a wonderfull place to visit just 2 KM apart from maha bodhi temple but you have to go before 5or 6 PM itss outer area Sujatha Temple is dedicated to a humble tribal woman named Sujatha who offered pudding to Gautam Buddha. It is said that the pudding was the first meal Gautam Buddha had consumed after years of starvation ever since he renounced the materialistic life including food to attain enlightenment. The temple is considered to be religiously important as the offering is believed to have saved Lord Buddhaes life.
Sujata donated the very first food (Ganar milk rice) to holy Buddha at this place.Every buddhist usually visit this place and pay respect to Sujata. You can also see and donate to local people as you see in my photos. Really historic place and love it.
Lord buddha accept the prasad from sujata before enlightenment and give promise to sujata that whenever he found new way of life he will definitely tell her and buddha complete his promise later on. Nice place historical importance. But now people around this place is very poor.
