We tried Puliyigare, Sakkare Pongal and curd rice (mosaranna). Food was very tasty, though for many the puliyogare might be a bit spicy. Pongal and curd rice experience was like eating home made food!!
Prices are reasonable.
Place is hygienic and well maintained, considering the continuous inflow of patrons.
Do remember it is a mess, not a hotel. Experience will be similar to having food at marriage halls, but cleaner than most of them...
We had to wait a bit for curd rice, but I realised it was because it was being freshly prepared. It was really worth the wait....
My friends tell me they run a hygienic, industry scale kitchen, though I haven't seen it myself.
They also sell puliyogare mix, pickles, happala, sandige etc.
My friends tell me the breakfast options are really good as well... Will definitely come back for more!!
My visit to subbanna mess was a delightful journey through the flavors of South India.
The quality of food, and the attentive service all contributed to an exceptional dining experience.
If you're a fan of South Indian cuisine or simply looking to explore new flavors, I highly recommend giving this mess a try. You won't be disappointed!
Top quality Brahmin mess!

Amazing and authentic veg meals, one of the best. Try jaggery pongal, its must have. Hygienic. This place is pretty famous, iv people visit from far places to have meals here.
Divine experience of savouring prasadam style food. Puliyogare, a top-notch, flavoursome item has more punch than the regulars, particularly their aromatic tempering of mustard seeds, fried lentils, groundnuts roasted in till (sesame) oil mixed with jaggery topped with fresh curry leaves - Dil maange more! & gives a feel of temple 'prasada'. Not to miss their jaggery pongal - lip-smacking, wow! Overall, a delectable food experience particularly after darshan of Lord Yoga Narasimha & Lord Cheluva Narayana. All visitors coming to Melkote, this is a must visit to a modest & homely outlet.
This place is located near to the temple.
Puliyogare and sweet pongal is must try.
Quality is 100%, but quantity is very less.
It's a famous bramin's hotel.
