Subbanna - South Indian restaurant in L G B Nagar, Karur - Karur, India

I had breakfast at the above hotel yesterday. When you travel to Madurai from Erode immediately after you negotiate the roundtana abutting the Salem - Madurai National Highway NH 44 , to your left side you can find SUBBANNA HOTEL. Ample parking space for 4 wheelers and two wheelers is there . Ambience is great . A petrol outlet is there just near by . We had Pongal , Puri and a Dosa. Two kind of chutneys, Sambar and Potato kuruma were provided in separate silver bowls , which were kept in our dining table . We ourselves , without expecting waiters to bring extra cup of Sambar or Chutney , can have them immediately as and when we desire , from the silver bowels kept in our dining table. Servers were polite and gentle in their approach. For the above items and three coffees we were charged 180 . It is well within normal limits . Wheelchair accessible parking and entrance is there , Restrooms are there . On a revisit on 23/8/2022 , I found out that nothing has changed at HOTEL SUBBANNA . Same patience and politeness on the part of the staff is still there . Only around 4 pm , staff of the hotel take their food . I purchsed a packet of Vandikadai plantain halwa (containing therein 10 small packets) costing 40 rupees and it tasted good.

Yuumy breakfast. Chuttney are fresh . Quality vs quantity are very well balanced. Ghee podi dosa is yumm. Hygiene is well maintained with handwash soap at every washbasin. Toilets are not modern but very neat maintained. Coffee is made strong.

The persons in the hotel are very kind and with humanity. I have done a long travel with pregnant wife and reached there. They gave us a separate place for resting for some hours. And not demanded any money. There is a park in back side of hotel and it was very nice and will give a pleasant atmosphere. Will come back soon there

Great Food, Needs to be clean! Food was very tasty and Service was very quick and cordial. Idly, Disa, Poori and Chutney were excellent!! However they can keep the place cleaner. Starting from the leaf served, the floor inside the restaurant, hand wash area all were very unclean. We couldn't use the toilet because it is was too dirty. Can keep all this clean to attract repeated customers.

UNBIASED REVIEW.....Moving from salem to madurai on highway....Looked for a restaurant for a quick breakfast as it was getting late....By seeing the high number of reviews on Google and good exterior ...Went inside....With my family.... PROS... 1. in highway ....Prime location for those travelling in karur highway 2. Decent car parking with security is there 3. Seating capacity around 50 to 60 CONS.... 1. priority is taste ...Which is compromised...Could have been better... 2. Cleanliness and hygiene are not up to the mark... 3. Unfinished gens restroom facility with poor hygiene 4. Service in delayed when we went 5. Wada was too oily... 6.lastly since situated in highway....The price is also not budget friendly... Sorry to enlist these cons....But giving constructive criticism to enable the management to improve in future... Verdict....One could find better restaurant # EXPERIENCE MAY VARY FROM PERSON TO PERSON & TIME TO TIME...

Taste ok. Good maintenance. Some slower service. Small children park available back side of hotel

Decent restaurant, hygienic place, tasty food, enough parking space and good service.
