Brilliant piece of carvings on the monolithic stone chariot, a must visit in Hampi. If you can walk here it is wonderful or you have an option of taking ebuggy too for which you have to wait in line and while coming back from the place you need to stand again in the queue. The walking distance is not more and can easily enjoy the walk till the chariot, keep yourself hydrated by grabbing some water bottles as there is no water available near the place though you will find it near the parking.

I visited this place during weekend. Since it is a weekend there is huge queue to get the buggy ride from parking place to the temple. So, to skip the queue we had to walk 1 km. Do not miss the river view next to the temple. Tiffins on the river bank are a good try. Guides at this place: You can hire a guide if you have no idea about history of this place. More money you pay, more info you get.

One of the most important and most seen monuments in whole of Hampi. The stone chariot is one of the three chariots preserved in India. The chariot seems to be a monolithic structure, however its made up of smaller stones. The chariot was commissioned by king Krishnadevaraya of vijayanagar empire. The structure has observed test of time and still standing tall. The chariot is gaurded now with wooden railings to make sure people dont touch the chariot. The complex can be reached by walking also from sri virupaksha temple if you gake the route via main bazaar, its little bit of a climb though. Entey fees: 35 for indians(for multiple sites in hampi) Parking: available for cars buses and bikes Food: basic food available Timings: 9:00 to 17:00 Others: 10 rupees ride for ev inside the complex Camera: allowed Drones: not allowed Note: Please respect the temple sites as temples (even though they are not functional) and remove shoes before entering Understand the culture just dont go for checkin or insta posts Avoid nuisance and dress appropriately Dont litter

Stone chariot is the reason we decided to go Hampi as it's on our Rs 50 currency and also a heritage site. This place has an e- vehicle transport facility from the gate to the chariot and vice versa. They charge 20rs per person for both sides. This took ample time for us while waiting for the vehicle to pick and drop. The ruins and architecture here have no words to express. A washroom facility is available too. We were not charged for the entry tickets as it was WORLD HERITAGE WEEK when we visited during November

A look at this masterpiece and you know that you have seen the rich historical heritage that's at one time would have been a feast to the eyes of one and all. The stone chariot and the two elephants found recently during excavations are such a blissful sight. One can only imagine the pleasure of watching the elephants pull this chariot in the past and the sound that would make due to the movement.
