We stayed for a couple of nights over the Diwali period. The stay was very memorable. The location of the resort is simply breathtaking with a great view of the Salem city down below in the valley. The rooms were comfortable and cosy. The staff were very friendly and courteous. A special word of mention to the restaurant staff, who went out of their way to entertain and keep our little toddler occupied and happy, and served all that was asked with a smiling face and thereby making sure we all had a very pleasant and lovely experience. Would highly recommend their property.
It was one of the beautiful stay over the weekend. The check in experience was hassle free. The food at the restaurant was top notch. The buffet were an absolute value for money and also the best I have had among all the Sterling Resort properties so far. The indoor activities were also really good. The gym, though present, was way too small. The spa was also beautiful. The unique feauture about the resort is that it is on a hill slope so it offers an amazing view of Salem City from the rooms. And that is a con as well as there will be lot of walking inside the property and old people will find it a bit hard. The only bad thing we faced was that we were allotted a room with blocked view. When requested for a change, the front office was not helpful saying the resort is full already but I could see that was not the case. We were disappointed because of this.
Good hospitality and service. Preferable stay especially when you travel with kids and infants. Food is top notch and affordable. They prepare food for infants as per our requirements. There is a small bar and the rates of Indian spritis are affordable. Only con of the facility is accessibility of rooms. You have to use stairs and it can be challenging for elderly people.
Sterling Yercaud is a special hotel. You can see its white buildings crowning the top of the hill as you climb it. It's cleverly built to fit with the hillside which means it's multistoried. This has a double edged sword - the views are amazing but it's also a difficult experience for elders and anyone who has trouble walking or climbing. You do not want to stay here if you cannot climb stairs. The food was amazing. The staff are professional and friendly. It was a great experience overall.
I and my family had a wonderful time at Sterling Yercaud. The service is excellent. Right from Reception everyone, house-keeping, in-room dining service all are polite and do their duties superbly. My son wanted a room with a view of the town below. The receptionist obliged immediately without any qualms and showed him another room to his satisfaction which he accepted happily. This made the entire family very pleased. I give this resort ***** 5 stars without any hesitation.
We spent a night at the hotel, and the room did not meet our expectations as a 4 star hotel. The shower didn't have a curtain, and as a result, when we took a shower, the toilet and floor got wet. The tiles in the bath need cleaning. The room was painted, and paint smears were on the headboard. The room was not cleaned properly. The furniture for a 4 star hotel is dated. The base of the bed also seemed to have paint drops. The room also had a musky smell. We were put in the very last room at the bottom, and it was a mission to get to the dining area or other amenities. On the plus side, the views from the hotel are amazing. It's close to the tourist sites and the breakfast was good.
Had a great time with the family. The resort is good. The location is awesome. But one needs to be fit to move around. The rooms are situated on a inclined surface and regular ascend/descend on staircase is required to move around. Most of the rooms have great balconies.
We went for a 2 nights Yercaud trip at sterling during Diwali . The stay was great . Nice food , Diwali celebration was fun and entertaining.view from premier rooms were extraordinary. Staffs were very courteous. Over all lovely stay ! Only con is elderly people who can't climb stairs will find it difficult.apart from that all fine
