Stepwell House - Hotel in Jodhpur - Jodhpur, India

Me and my friends from different parts of the world stayed in this place for two nights. From the moment we got out of our tuk-tuks, the manager was so welcoming and very professional. The same thing can be said about all of the staff members, all of them are very kind and helpful. Overall, the service was amazing. The hotel itself is very pretty, starting from the entrance and the main desk. The rooms are beautiful and so well designed, the windows are lovely and the view to the Stepwell is amazing. Everything was clean and organized, plus there are some really nice books for you to read. The location is great since there are tons of restaurants around and small shops where you can buy small groceries. Just amazing!

A friend just attempted to stay here and, despite having a reservation and all necessary documentation, she and her companions were refused entry and violently forced out on the street in the middle of the night in winter. The apparent complaint from management was that they did not have their actual physical passports with them to check in, but they had sufficient identification and valid copies of their passports. Despite this, they were spit on and shoved into the street in an area without public transportation to find other lodgings at nearly midnight. Absolutely horrendous treatment--if I could leave zero stars, Ii would. Do not stay here.

The staff was friendly and accommodating. However, the stay was pretty disappointing. The rooms are way smaller than the pictures. They lack basic amenities. The bathroom was really outdated. The room also wasn't properly cleaned and had trash from the previous guests. They do give complimentary breakfast at Stepwell Cafe. The cafe has a great view and ambience, and the hosts provide nice reminders for breakfast. However, the breakfast is average. The only good thing is the location! And the good views of toor ji ka jhalra.

DO NOT STAY HERE. Especially tourists. I'm a 26-year-old American woman and had a booking for a room. I put my physical passport in a safe in Mumbai because my group was going on Safari, and I didn't want to lose it/have it stolen. Still, I had a scan of my passport, scan of my Indian visa, and my physical ID. I arrived at the hotel around 11pm, and they literally turned me away and left me out on the street with my luggage saying that they couldn't accommodate me without the physical passport. Again, this was at 11pm at night in the middle of winter. They had absolutely no empathy, did not try to help me in any capacity, and started yelling at me when I begged them to give me a place to sleep. I had to walk around the streets with my luggage to find other accommodations. Please do not support an establishment like this.

This hotel's staff is terrible. They verbally and physically harassed my friends, who are women, when they were checking-in to the hotel late at night. They had reservations and provided proof of identity but it, for whatever reason, was not enough for the staff and they were screamed at in an abusive manner and forced out onto the street in the middle of the night, which was incredibly dangerous. This hotel's employees are misogynistic. DO NOT STAY HERE! IT'S TRASH!

I and my husband loved the vibe at Stepwell house. It is at the heart of Jodhpur with a mesmerising view of the Mehrangarh fort. The room was clean and 'very cute'. Friendly staff and locality is also nice. A must visit!

Can't leave less than a star. Wish I could though. The staff are incredibly disrespectful. Insanely disrespectful. And the amenities are... well... there are none can actually be called "amenities." There are beds. But they're very uncomfortable. Zero stars

location and view was amazing as from the room I can see the fort and the step well right in front of my room. the view from the terrace restaurant was amazing and the staff members were polite. however the stay at this place was not comfortable. I will list the pro's and con's pro's view was amazing right in front of toorji ka jhalra the care taker aijaz was the one man show who is doing everything out there big stepwell facing rooms con's washroom was average no hot water but when checked the care taker arranged hot water bucket bathtub was there but we didn't use it as it looked dirty if you are staying at the top floor then you have to climb the stairs which can be a tiresome thing if you have to get down multiple times rooms are big however the air conditioner in the room isn't able to cool the room or I guess the ac was at fault. requested to have that repaired but in vain water problem in the washroom where we stayed at the first night next night the care taker aijaz was courteous enough to change the room from 3rd floor to 1st floor which took care of the water and ac issues if you want the best look of toorji ka jhalra and the fort view from the room or hotel restaurant then check out for this hotel however you need to miss out on your comfort. I will suggest you to stay near the railway or bus station where you won't get an amazing view however with the same price you will get a very comfortable stay, there are many cafes which provide terrace view. you can spend few hours in the evening and enjoy the view. I stayed one day at maple abhay which was of a similar price however the stay was very comfortable if you are staying this side of the city then be prepared to get looted from the auto walas and also from the ones who are giving 2 Wheeler on rent.
