Stepped Tank - Featured Reviews (68)
Located on the hampi Hospet road It was originally built for quenching thirst of travellers If you're passing through this way you can visit this It's a small tank with a path around it The water is quite clear
Amazing architecture with some kind of carvings on all the steps. This is located inside the royal enclosure.
Awesome engineering monument. It's a two storied stepped well. On the main road leading to Hampi from Hospet. No parking space. Vehicle to be parked along the road only. No entrance fee.
It is very old well in Vijayaraja empire period. They kept well.
See in ancient india how water management is handled
Underrated but worth visiting. It's on the way from Hospet to hampi.
This is the first monument of interest that comes on the way towards Hampi. There is no parking space and you need to park your car on the main road itself to visit the place. The monument has beautiful Islamic Architecture. The place is well maintained and clean. We could not go below the steps as the kids are too young and I was not very comfortable with the safety of the place and we had to cover the other places around Kamalapur like the Lotus Mahal and Royal Enclosures.
This tank shows how the water used to be fed into the well. The tank or well itself has underground chambers which were probably used by guards or dasis, took fetch water by multiple persons simultaneously. The only downside of this historical place is that it is not being publicised as much as other historical places are!! No parking or other amenities... More of a stop-look-go kind of a place. Good for children!!
