Situated 40 km from Balodabazar and 80 km from Bilaspur at the confluence of the rivers Mahanadi and Jonk, Giraudhpuri Dham is one of the most revered pilgrimage sites in Chhattisgarh. This small village, which has deep links to spirituality and historical interest, is the birthplace of the founder of the Satnami cult of Chhattisgarh, Guru Ghasidas. Born in a farmer family of this region, one day he became Guru Ghasidas, a much respected figure in Chhattisgarh. Pilgrims take him here to offer prayers at the 'Seat', which is located next to the Jet Khamba. He is said to have done penance for a long time under the Auradhara tree which is still there. This holy place is also called Tapobumi. Charan Kund is a sacred pond and the site of the annual Giroudpuri Fair. Another kilometer from here lies the ancient Amrit Kund, whose water is considered sweet.
