Station Vegetarian Restaurant - Vegetarian restaurant in Ooty - The Nilgiris, India

Ambience is excellent as inside the Heritage Railway station . Apart from that nothing as expected . Food taste is worst and you need to have an self service (quiet understandable as it is Railway canteen ) We have order for veg meals it is served without butter milk or yogurt when I asked staff saying to buy curd which is surprising. We have rush to the station to reach the train so time then only we taken the food there . Cleaning is not done frequently as your having the tourists even the water jug inside not cleaned properly .

Very neat & clean. Well maintained. Good service, even it's self service. And the highlight part is the price. Had 4 idlis, 1 vada & a coffee for 60/- only. It's really cheap for tourist place like this. And food was also good, both quality & quantity.

Ambience is excellent as inside the Udagamandalam Heritage Railway station. Food taste is nice, you need to have an self service (quiet understandable as it is Railway canteen ) My family stayed 2days at IRCTC Retiring rooms. These are first floor of the station. At morning when we are going to sight seeing raining is continually falling from night. So we couldn't go outside.Then this canteen most useful to have breakfast. Two days had breakfast here. This canteen is rush on everyday. I didn't take lunch here. So I don't know about lunch taste. Non Vegetarians can find out more hotels at outside. But for Vegetarians bit difficult to pick out the Veg. Restaurant. It's my own experience.

To be true I'm giving the rating on ambience and food availability and not on taste of food. It is on the crowded place of ooty so availability of food is your luck. Good seating arrangement, when we visited it was around 5 PM, the veg food was over. parking place is available, rest room are at the end. The staff was good on guiding us where we would get food in that area.

I had chappathi and channa curry, the channa was excusite, the taste is indeed the reflection of North Indian spice blend, no cons , chappathi was cold but soft.

Only south indian food served....that too 3rd class

Restaurant was super clean with healthy foods on menu!!!! Price were tooo low for such healthy and fresh food!!! Definitely recommend. The staffs were friendly and nice. It was renovated recently maybe before one or two year ago. Chairs were like very new, and also they accept debit and credit cards. North and south Indian meals are served here along with snacks items.
