They are demanding amount for opening amount like 1000 rs.. i'm not sure is this mandate to deposit 1K to open a savings account ? i could see if we open account in yono app its zero balance account.. And they are not kind enough.. If they are going lunch they are not making customers wait until they back from lunch... To open bank account, as per my experience.. avg time took was min 1 hour max 2.5 hrs.
If you come here to deposit a huge amount or withdraw a big one, you will be welcomed warmly and your process will done in 10mins. My dad and me visited this branch, two days back for closing the savings account. The manager asked us to come early in the next day morning around 10.30. We reached the bank at 10.15 the next day. We have waited till 11.30 to get the approval from manager for closure. We went to withdraw the balance amount of around 300rs. The cashier made us to wait till 12.30. The way they treat common people and wealthiest people are different here.
On Saturdays reach here by 9:45 as the rush will be high. Take a token immediately entering the bank. The staffs here are good. Manager here is genuinely customer friendly. I gave multiple requests to update my contact number and still some OTP goes to new number and some to old number. Hence 4 stars.
SBI located in melappalayam. Easily identified this bank . locker facily available here. Customer service worst.
State bank of india at melapalayam branch is a good functioning bank.there is no many spaces for vehicle parking but we can park it on roadsides ...
They don't know the meaning of friendly relationship.

Update: Recently i visited and they seem to have started serving egg side dishes(i had omlette) and as well kudal kulambu. Home like cooking, good taste. I eat here regularly when I travel via Chennimalai. Rates are also nominal.
