Stanza Living Clarksville House - Hostel in Chennai - Chennai, India

DO NOT STAY HERE. I'd booked a single room and paid for it months in advance as it was in a prime spot and absolutely close to my work place. However, eventually decided to skip seeing how it actually functions. They are all sweet and courteous when you visit to check out the place, however it's the exact opposite once you make the payment. Also, ONCE YOU MAKE THE PAYMENT THERE IS NO WAY THEY'D GIVE YOU BACK THE AMOUNT PAID. Not even a partial deduction, but they take it all away. Improve your services, improve the comfort provided and then demand the bucks you charge. Pathetic and disgusting.

This particular PG located in Nungambakkam ,near Gemini bridge only for girls. My friend stayed in this PG for almost a year and I write this review after conversation with her. This PG is different from what was shown in the picture and the Rooms and dinning area was average . For laundry initially we have been told every 4 days they will take clothes, but they will take every week and return the clothes next week only. Food is average only . If we do complaints it will not go to management and they will ignore eventually. For AC we will be charged with excessive amount per unit which is very frustrating . Less parking space outside due to the narrow road and no space to park cars.

Pathetic. And I am not exaggerating. I will give you 10 reasons why you should not choose this particular place (This review is only for Clarksville Stanza living although I have heard similar stories about other stanzas in this city). 1) The rooms are small and they are NOT AT ALL like the ones shown on the website. There was no window in my room. TOTALLY DARK. I don't know how I managed to breathe. 2) I was in a twin sharing and I had no space to walk or even keep my clothes. I was living off my suitcase. 3) The room cleaning is BAD. Sometimes they don't even clean once a week. 4) The entire staff are locals, which is ok but they can't speak Hindi or English. As someone who is from a different state it was EXTREMELY hard for me to communicate. 5) The food is HORRIBLE. It is basically 90% water and 10% everything else. 6) The overall hygiene is just missing. The plates kept in the eating area are never clean. I don't know how they wash it. 7) OH and they charge you extra for the AC. In a city like Chennai you cannot sleep without air conditioning. I had to pay Rs 500 every 4 days for the AC. 8) They have a major water problem. Randomly in the middle of the day there's no water and we are informed about the same after half an hour. I mean what is the point? 9) The WIFI is NOT AL ALL SECURE. My email got hacked 3 times. I contacted the IT team about the same and their response was "No other resident has complained about the wifi, how are only you facing the issue? Stanza wifi is secure". Not at all helpful. So I just stopped using their wifi. 10) While I was staying at the place, a break in happened. Where's the safety? If you are new to the city I would suggest that you go for an apartment sharing. There are no good PG options in Chennai. OH and BTW, I just stayed there for a month. Literally left the city because of bad stay and food. This is just my experience. Hope it helps :)

Experiencing the worst service. I've been here for a year and everyday there will be a new problem. Monthy twice atleast we won't have water during exam times it will be very hard for us. And the worst part is they have very poor security system where a guy entered hostel through window and management took no action not even a CSR copy was given just because their reputation will go. Without any option we are staying here as only if the contract period ends we can get the advance amount of 10k. And you can see rats running here and there. There won't be proper room cleaning services as there won't be available housekeeping. Everyday it's a headache here. Please never choose this hostel for stay. Paying so much money for this is useless. And yeah no staffs will help you in any hostel issues they will just ignore it completely and respond in a very rude manner.

The rooms are very small for 3 sharing. We weren't able to check the rest. The hostel in charge seems to have no knowledge regarding the rent,availability, or any arrangements and kept on asking us to call the sales person for any details, which was a bit annoying.

Please don't choose this place !! Firstly I had to pay 11200 for a 4 sharing room when everyone else (including people who moved in after me) paid 10500. in the room we literally had no space even to move. When we complained he said you don't have space because you keep it unclean. When we complained of not getting food as food gets over before meal time is over he said it is because you are eating too much. When I booked the place they showed 10500 but when I moved in they changed the contract and asked me to pay 11200. And other who came after me paid 10500 only. After some months as I started getting sick due to the congested environment where there was no proper ventilation I moved to 2 sharing. I paid 20k when people moved in after me paid 18k. They give different rent for different people and when we ask they say that's how it is can't do anything. Basically that's the explanation they give for everything. Recently when I enquired about exit process, the staff hareesh told me if I'm moving out on may 2 start exit process by April 2. I did the same and they charged me for may 2 also even though I'll move out may 2 . Even though it was a mistake from the staff side who didn't communicate properly, they blackmailed me saying They'll take money from deposit. They are most rudest and arrogant staffs. They will misguide you and leech money out of you. Please don't come to this place. The location is very bad doesn't even have a supermarket or pharmacy nearby. The kitchen is rat infested and you can see rats running over utensils. The drinking water pipe which touches the water while filling water is always on the floor where these rats run. All the staffs are very rude and don't expect them to sort out your issues. They will say I've your deposit we will take money from it. The food is also bad.

Iam from kerala I took an Ac room in stanzaa .now its extremely hot in chennai and the Ac is not working in our room for past 3 weeks .we requested for the repair from the first day itself they havie nt done any thing about it . It is the same about everything in this place Plzz don't choose this place for stay ... The bill we have to pay is extremely high and the maintanence is very poor

This is very bad hostel, RC Geethanjali and RM Rafeeq here doesn't know their work properly, I have given one month notice period to RC over whatsapp before living stanza. The resident captain Geethanjali neither give me her official email id to email her nor did my check out from her side. Then when i approached her she stopped answering my calls and text and resident manager Rafeeq also did the same. These people are not at all worried about residents money. So I ended up in having next month fee as due. So the reason i could not get my deposit back. I approached every possible person to clear my due amount. But no one helped. On top of that they started saying i need to send notice period information over email, that the RC Geethanjali didnt share her email id. But i still shared screenshots of whatsapp as I informed to two stanza people for notice period they didn't consider it. I wonder how come they only need email information when i have proof of two stanza people. Full of scam. I wish i give 0 rating if it exists. Guys think twice before you join.
