I'm visiting at 4 pm here. There is a maintained nice church, some exhibitions, and statues, etc. on the top of the mountain.
There are many visitors, and I can understand that this is a famous place for the local Christian and visitors.
The view from here is good that I could see Chennai.
The timing I visited is cloud. I guess we can see more beautiful views on sunny day and i want to recommend you visit sunny timing.

Very nice church located in crowded city of Chennai, however once you drive up to the hilltop it's calm and peaceful. Definitely you can spend some good time here in the evening.
Peaceful experience. Blessed feeling.. Calm place in the center of Chennai. Difficult to reach for parking as it's narrow road.. But a lot of parking in the top.
Nice and peaceful place inside city. You can see chennai airport, plane landing and take off from here. Good views. Church is very calm. There isn't much to eat over there, so carry snacks if needed. Avoid going during peak sun

A beautiful serene place to be far from the maddening crowd of Chennai. A lot of greenery clean and neat ... a nice hike up the mount. They have well kept clean and hygienic toilets for guests. It was a balm for the soul
The new Chapel for St.Thomas is quite an effort. Kudos to the Parish priest and the Chengalpattu diocese for conceiving and constructing this glorious place for the pilgrims. Bliss....
