St. Joseph's Syro-Malabar Church - Catholic church in Kothamangalam - Ernakulam, India

This church is more than a hundred years old and is located on The Munnar-Madurai-Dhanushkodi Highway passing through Kuthukuzi in Kothamangalam. Also known as Kuthukuzi Palli and there is a bus stop on one of the entrances to this church. This church has its own school namely St.Joseph's UP School next to it. This church is located in a wide area which is raised from the highway and has three entrances, two for vehicles and one 5-6 sets of 16-20 stairs for people who walk. This church obviously has an ample amount of parking space and is a really good choice for travellers to stop by for all your prayer needs on the way.

Top of a hill. Old building. Just a place of gathering. God is with you, open your inner eyes to see him. God cannot be find in any building.

Old church. With a good auditorium for functions. The auditorium is big to accommodate people in a big function.

I spend my childhood in this church........ whenever I think about this church.... it's a different feel......st.joseph has more powerful in this church

Very old and beautiful church

Church belongs to Nellimattom parish with more than 800 catholic families residing in between Puliyanpara to Vayanashalapady. Vincent DePaul,Mathruvedhi, Cherupushpam Mission League (CML), Kerala Catholic Youth Movement (KCYM) all these organisations are well run by the parish members for helping the poor and needfull people. It is a stone masonry church which was built over 100 years ago. Surrounded by rubber plantations which provides more beauty to the church in an aerial view. A private cemetery of church is situated in the east side. A SD convent is there situated nearby the church. An upper primary school with good standard class rooms and faculties have been run by the church in the premises. A large play ground is also there near church. Two Station churches builded in the name of St. Antony and St. Little flower are situated at Parayuthottam kavala and Nellimattom town under the main parish. I love this place for its peaceful atmosphere. Used to visit the church in almost all times b4 i got in to my current job. I really wish I could go back to my church and do what am good at. KCYM buddies of mine, miss u all buddies....

An old church but good place to pray. Quite place. Cemetery is just nearby. Few metres away from main road.
