This is a Roman Catholic Church built in 1568 by the Portuguese Catholic Missionaries.. Now it's a 450 year old church.. One of the oldest churches in Vasai..!!

It's the Church where I was baptised, confirmed and ordained in 1984. It's a beautiful place of communities gatherings and how people of different faith live here. We have very hard working priests who keep the faith of the people alive and see to the continuous formation of the faithful. The church invited the priests for the novenas who are ordained here at the church I will be celebrating the feast mass for the English speaking people. It's my joy and privilege to do the honours. St James' Church at Agashi, Virar (West) is 450 years old and currently they are celebrating their 450 years Anniversary. It is one of the oldest Church in Vasai Diocese and probably only one church named after St James in Vasai and Mumbai Diocese. This Parish is having population of faithfuls numbering about 3500. Today the Church is celebrating the feast of It's Patron St James although the actual and Main Feast Celebration will be on following Sunday -29th July.

A historical monument and a prime landmark in Agashi. Very well maintained and really a must visit place in Agashi.

Build by the Portuguese Rulers 400 years back I am the 4th generation residing opposite the church
