The church and the premises are well maintained.
One of the most blessed place. A calm and quiet place by the highway side. The alter is said to have murals dating back to the 16th century. Also the remains of the old priest Is preserved in the premises. The church is an old one with almost 800 families in attendance
This church, located between Haripad and Kayamkulam, has a rich legacy of murals. These murals, a part of the Christian art tradition, belong to the pre- Renaissance period and are a blend of Kerala mural art and Persian art. Certain documents say that the church was established in CE 1175. Jornado records Meneses Metropolitan's visit to this church in connection with the Synod of Diamper.
The church and shrine are very well maintained. You will get a sense of peace here
Jesus is the only way to reach heaven. There is a saying in Hindi language, "Chamtkar ko Namaskar." God's servants are teaching people and getting them in the name of miracles and so their faith is based on miracles or they come to the building in the name of only miracles. As per the Word our salvation is the greatest miracle but people are taught and enticed by the name of miracles, blessings, position, possession and the list goes on. Its been 2000 and plus years passed since the gospel preached by St. Thomas but only a few people are really strong and steadfast in the Word. Whether a person is healed or not, rich or poor, whatever be the situation he or she needs to follw the footsteps if Jesus Christ till the death or till His coming on the clouds. Many times most of the servants of the Lord or the big pastors misundertand the Word and preach as they like. One of such verse is Phill. 4:13 that says i can do all things thru Christ who strengths me. This verse of the Word is used numerous times to encourage oneself and others. The Word is misinterpreted to say that i will get all the blessings, wealth and so on. This Word is presented as a big short and as a positive bullet for our personal beliefs but not as the Word tells. When we see the preceding verses we can understand Him easily. Paul says that i know how to live in hunger or abundance because i can do all things in Christ who strenghts me. In other words i can manage and go through all the situations and overcome it in Christ who strengths me. May God bless you through His Word.
