Sri Venkateshwara Mens PG - Hostel in Hyderabad - Hyderabad, India

Just average Mens PG. Facilities are not so good. Just reasonably okay. An upgraded version to Ameerpet, S.R.Nagar hostels. Food is okay. Rooms are not spacious. They will increase room prices without informing in advance. Located 2 KM far from Deloitte, TCS etc..

Food-2/5 It used to be great at the time of previous good(wife and husband from Andhra).Honestly, the food at that time is one among the best I've eaten either in hostels or messes.I would have given 7/5 for the food at that time.Believe me,I didn't order food from outside at any time during the previous cook's tenure because of bad cooking. But now the food is just average.The cook makes dal, sambar and curd very liquidy.Infact,dal feels like a little dal is added to huge water,rather than water added to dal.That is not the case with previous cook. He used to make thick dal,quality and thick sambar and curd.Maybe that's the reason he was terminated.Maybe the owner and supervisor want someone to cook food with less quality to save more money for them.There is more to it- in the morning (for packing lunch in carriage) the dal will be liquidy as usual.But after the rush hour ends in the afternoon lunch time or night dinner time, miraculously the dal will become thick.I wonder why the cook hides the dal and provides only water in other times. The cook doesn't have any interest in cooking.This can be seen the way he makes other dishes (curries etc.) If it's Tuesday night,he makes curry with morning's leftover punugulu.If it's Thursday morning,he literally makes peas curry with very little potatoes and almost null onions in it for poori curry.Sometimes he makes masterpieces like rajma masala which makes you lose sanity so that you'll question the origin of the human beings on this planet. And it would be better if they provide chapattis for morning lunch box along with rice. Some things are commonsense,even which these guys lack.Why to make buttermilk and majjiga charu at a time?Instead,they can make buttermilk and sambar/rasam. Maintenance-1/5 Does anyone clean their homes only once a week?No right.But it happens here.While all other hostels have daily sweeping,and wet mop and bathroom cleaning for once in two days,here the rooms will be swept and mopped,and bathroom will be cleaned once a week.In addition to that the sweepers are escapists! The wash basins in the dining hall will be filled with water frequently.The cleaner won't remove the clog timely and also the people who throw food in wash basin rather than in dustbin are to blame for this. Facilities-3/5 No power backup. The dhobi washes clothes well(Offlate,he's not washing properly).But there's a catch!He's picky.He doesn't washes shorts,blankets,sweaters,overcoats etc.Also he brings washed clothes after 3 days.If you are accustomed to getting laundry done in 1 day in previous hostels, it would take some time to get adjusted. The clothes get missed but it's rare.The credit should goes to supervisor.He sits and note downs the count of clothes for each person before and after laundry to ensure that clothes doesn't go missing. Sometimes the drinking water doesn't get replaced per time.You can find empty tins in the filter. Resolving issues-2/5 The supervisor sometimes resolves issues promptly.But sometimes,he will be extremely lazy and give excuses to do small work.But,he will be on his toes to ask rent on time,lol. The best example is fans in dining area.It's been around one year since 2 out of 3 stopped working,but till now they haven't been repaired. Parking-2/5 Only bike parking is present.The parking space is less.The one's who parked at first in the evening would ideally want to remove their vehicles first in the morning but that's a bit difficult.There is very much idle space where a volleyball net is present.No one plays there and moreover it's covered with stone chips.Those can be removed,and a shed can be uplifted and that place can be utilised for parking Rooms-3/5 The rooms' size is a bit cramped up.Wi-Fi is slow. The sweepers' son.He starts crying or shouting from morning 6 or 6:30 which disturbs sleep even for people staying at first floor(Guys staying in the second floor are lucky,lol).He also sometimes turns the knobs of petrol and removes the spark plug of bikes. Hostel is located in prime area.One will have a peaceful stay here.

Security - CCTV cameras available. Food - ok and you can't get it after 2 in afternoon. Cloths washing - dhobi facility available 2 times a week. Sometimes you may not get clothes what you have given for washing. Cleaning Rooms - worst. Bathroom cleaning - 2 Times happening in a month.

Good enough for living. Nice rooms. Clean and hygenic toilets. Very good food. Nice staff. All facilities are good. No problem at all. Feeling like home.

Decent food (better than most), good wi-fi, the people here are good as well. No complaints. Avoid 2 sharing it possible, it's cramped.

Good place to stay. Small rooms but well maintained. Decent food and overall good place to stay.

Rooms are good, better in food quality, It's like a home is away from a home
