One of the ancient temples on the outskirts on Tirpur city which is less known to the tourists is the Sukreeswarar Temple. It is surprising to know that even the people of Tirpur are not aware of this ancient temple. This temple is from 10th century and is located at Sarcar Periyapalayam (S. Periyapalayam). It lies on the Tirupur-Erode Uthukuli road highway, around 8 km from Tirpur. Lord Shiva (Sugreeswarar) is the main deity of the temple. An ancient temple where Lord Shiva and Parvathi as the main devotee. This is said to be 2500 years older

A place that can awaken all energies within and shake your entire body - wow, this place did that, so Divine and powerful. We were lucky that a devotee had requested for Abhishekam when we reached in the evening and were blessed to witness the magnificent Shivalingam transforming in to a divine sight with full alankaara, step by step. Another experience one should experience. We felt that the divine power pulled us there on the day. The place is a surprise again. Not many know in the nearby surroundings about this 2500+ years temple and people across the State visit here. It has its astrological significant where Sukhraan and Eswaran are at the same place. Spend some time here and it would become a place in your plan to bring your bigger family.

A very good and pleasant Temple built decades ago. No alterations done so the old scripture and a fantastic work is still waiting for us to see them. A must visit Temple

SUKREESWARAR TEMPLE Uthukuli Road, Tiruppur, Tamil Nadu , Inscriptions of Cholas, Pandyas and Udayars are found in this temple. (There's no concensus on the actual age of the temple.) It is one of the shrines of the Vaippu Sthalams (Tamil hymns from 7th-8th century) sung by Tamil Saivite Nayanar Sundarar. In celebration of TEEJ , I will try to share more Uma - Maheshwara monuments in the coming days. Some of the photos are my own. I visited this monument the day after visiting the Adiyogi centre in Coimbatore. The Sukreeswarar Temple can be reached from this major Tamil city.
