Sri Subramania Swamy Temple, Kurukkuthurai - Hindu temple in Tirunelveli - Tirunelveli, India

It's located in thamirabarani river Bank in Tirunelveli. In the Rock temple built and in the river flow area. It is one of the oldest ancient temple in Tirunelveli to worship. During heavy water flow in river can't go to temple. Other ways can go for temple.

A simple temple with high spritual vibes. One of the peaceful temples situated by the thamirabarani river bed. Heard that the temple would be submerged in water during floods. Many marriages would be held in this temple hence during subamugurtham(auspicious day for marriage) it would be impossible to enter the temple. Don't follow google maps, ask the local people for "kurukkuthurai murugan temple" when you're 1km or 2kms away.

This is the first time I have seen the place and worshipped Lord Subramanian. Very Architectural old temple. Nearby river flows is highly enjoyable and very good nature. I attended the marriage here. Very good temple. Road to this temple is not good. Old path. Road is necessary. Devotees of Muruga should go over to the temple and worship. Best wishes

Kurukkuthurai temple is situated on the banks of Thamirabarani river. Its speciality is that you can directly drive your two wheeler or car on to the banks of the river inside the city of Tirunelveli. During heavy rains, the temple gets submerged in water. The stone mandapam is always partially submerged in water. Children can safely take bath inside the small water channels which flow through the stone pillars. This temple is dedicated to Lord Muruga. The water quality is poor due to contamination. Hopefully it will improve after the Thamirabarani Pushkaram, a special worship and celebration to the 12 sacred rivers of India, which happens once in 144 years. It will be celebrated on September 11-22, 2018. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to realise the great role these rivers have been playing in the development of human civilizations over thousands of years and to respect them so that we can preserve their cleanliness and water flow for many more generations to come.

Dedicated to Lord Murugan. Situated middle of the river Thamirabharani. The beautiful idol of Sri Murugan is as that of Thiruchendur. Another peculiarity is the same Rock Stone was used to carve the famous Thiruchendur Murugan. Can reach the temple from Sri Nellaiappar temple, Tirunelveli at about 2-3 Kms distance. Must visit place for its location, beauty. We will get a fresh and positive energy when for the darshan. Parking is bit difficult. Flowers are not available. Very old temple.
