Sri Someshwara Swami Temple - Hindu temple in Bengaluru - Bengaluru Urban, India

Dedicated to lord Shiva the temple is a peaceful place to spend your evening. It's a 300-400 year old temple. There are many other deity inside the temple. There is no much parking outside the temple but still we got ample amount of parking though we visited on weekend. The place was not much crowded.

Sri Someswara Swamy Temple is one of the old temples located in Bangalore. Lord Shiva lingam mandiram. The Temple is moderately large and peaceful with a lot of sub temples. Various murthy's of ganesh are present here. The chola kings have built this temple and we should take care of this.

It is one of the old temples in the city dating back to the Chola period, it is dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva. It is very very pretty from inside. Taking photos inside the campus was not allowed. It's better to visit by yourself and see the beauty.

One of the oldest and most calming places you will come across. Highly recommended if you are a spiritual person..!

The legend associated with this temple claims that Kempe Gowda was inspired to build it when Lord Shiva, in the form of Someshwara, appeared to him in a dream after a hunting expedition. While this temple dates back to the 16th century, it may not be considered very old in a country like India with ancient treasures like the Ajanta Caves dating from the 2nd century BC.

Very Good temple. I visited there for the first time and looks like some aarti or there was some eve. It was such a great vibe you just can't resist it. This temple is so beautiful and large. You would just love it.

The temple is so beautiful, must visit. It is so peaceful and devotional temple. 7-10 mins walk from metro, 2-3 mins walk from bus stop.

One of the finest and oldest temple of Bengaluru.. the temple construction is typical style of Vijayanagara Empire and said to constructed much before 15th century but the shivalinga present inside is dated back to Chola Kingdom..
