The centre was started in 1927. Although it ceased to be an official branch of Ramakrishna Math after some years, its activities continued. The management of the centre was again taken over by Ramakrishna Math in 2016. Activities: A students' hostel for tribal boys and a Balak Sangha. Values education programme for students. Celebration of the birthdays of Sri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi and Swami Vivekananda, and festivals such as Navaratri. Weekly religious classes, monthly retreats and lectures in the ashrama and elsewhere. Welfare work by providing educational help to poor students and medical and pecuniary help to the needy.
It is a very calm as well as vibrating place. One can feel when they enter the premises.Guru maharaj is always in happy mood to bless everyone who comes to him. A must place to visit this centre.
One of the most active centres of Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission in Kerala. Many deserving students are helped by this Ashrama. Many devotees of this Ashrama have taken initiation from Gurus of Ramakrishna Mission or Ramakrishna Sarada Mission. with People wanting to spend some quality quiet time can do so after prior intimation and getting confirmation.
