Sri Kurumurthy Venkateswara Swamy Temple, Ammapuram - Hindu temple in Mahbubnagar - Wanaparthy, India

My favourite place to visit every November and December. It is the occasion of Kurumurthy Swamy Brahmotsavam(Kurumurthy Jathara). People from various places visit here and take blessings of Sree Kurumurthy Swamy. Later they enjoy a lot in the Jathara(Mela)

Lord venkateswara incarnated as swayambhu under caves,this kshetram is called poor man's tirupati ,the main feature is uddalotsavam where Lord's slippers were been fabricated and been brought here,one can reach this temple from devarkadra jn or konnur and kurumurthi railway station,or they can get down at temple by buses going to atmakur or wanaparthy.temple is located on a small hillock and can be reached after climbing 150 steps.

The temple was superb..wonderful place ,it was at the top of the hills, we have to climb steps to reach temple , it was a wonderful experience going there . beautiful sceneries for photoshoot

Kurumurthy Swamy Alayam is very famous and the annual 'Kurumurthy Jathara' is even more popular. You should not miss the Jathara (which usually is between Nov to Jan) as it is very unique. You may want to google about the uniqueness of this temple and history, especially about 'Udhala'. Its very crowded during the Jathara. Ample parking space is available, vehicles Pooja is also done. Canopy is installed, so climbing the steps even in the sun is comfortable ( especially for the elderly). I did not count the number of steps, but it's a breeze when you sit for sometime. Venkateswara Swamy's idol is unique too with a moustache, nowhere I have seen such unique idol. Darshan is quicker. If you are a non-vegetarian, then you MUST try the mutton fry or sheek kabab which is sold ONLY during the Jathara, you'll see all the various stalls setup around the Jathara, only to sell the non-vegetarian fry items. Though these stalls are now moved a bit away from the original location but are still easily accessible. Jurala project is nearby, if you'd want to visit the project and spend some time off. All in all, I have fond memories. There are no hotels to stay nearby however. You may contact the temple EO for any help. Hope this review was helpful to you.

Kurumurthi venkateshwara swamy temple is one of the oldest venkateshwara swamy temple in mahbubnagar district very powerful god temple is on hill top you can reach there by steps. One of the must visit temple in mahbubnagar district recently temple renovation doing by state government like approach roads and new steps way and temple hall very nice temple
